Job description: Executive Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management

Non-Unit Professional position, 37.5 hours/week

Campus Location: Lynn/Danvers campus, 4 days on site, 1 day remote (telework is subject to change based on the needs of the department and/or College.)

SALARY RANGE: Anticipated salary range $85,000.00-$95,000.00 commensurate with education and experience. Full time benefited employees at North Shore Community College are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package offered through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Provides complete oversight, vision, leadership, and support to campus admissions, recruitment, and enrollment services areas. Responsible for utilizing the College’s Strategic Management Enrollment Plan and the institution’s Client Relationship Management (CRM) software to develop a comprehensive tactical plan to attract, recruit, retain, and admit a robust student population of students taking credit, non-credit and Early College courses. Oversees admissions processing including the college’s web self-recruit tools, the online application process, and specialized admissions decisions. The Executive Director will have direct management responsibilities for a staff that includes recruitment counselors, the Associate Director of Admissions and Enrollment, and the Enrollment Specialists who work in our Enrollment Centers.

Working closely with the Dean of Enrollment Services, the Executive Director will provide leadership in the implementation of the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan that is embedded with a commitment to access, student success and completion goals. The Director works collaboratively with the Director of Financial Aid, Manager of Student Accounts, Coordinator of Veterans Affairs on the Enrollment Services Team. The Executive Director will also work closely with the Academic Deans, as well as numerous other College stakeholders to create a shared commitment to the SEM goals and active participation in accomplishing the goals in support of the College’s strategic initiatives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Act as the NSCC administrator and maintainer for all CRM functions, system updates, staff training, and internal CRM system modifications, directing the application process from inquiry to enrollment.

  • Develop and implement a communication plan to maximize student contact through CRM and positively impact recruitment, enrollment, and retention. Continually evaluate student communication and survey data to develop new strategies to meet students’ needs.
  • Responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of annual admissions and recruitment events and enrollment strategies (including but not limited to high school events, college fairs, on campus visits, guidance counselor events, early acceptance dinners, etc.).
  • In partnership with the Assistant Dean of Academic & Student Development, help to provide leadership, vision and direction for a holistic First Year Experience, including a reimagined on-boarding and orientation process.
  • Oversee the One Stop Centers Lynn, Danvers, & Centro Hub (Virtual), by ensuring staff:
  • Provide quality customer service to students
  • Provide level-one information to customers which includes basic financial aid, registration, student records, and admission data
  • Transfer students to appropriate person, or department, when necessary and ensure the follow through of assistance and resolution
  • Direct students to information on the college website
  • Provide assistance to students with Banner Web/Navigate (i.e. dropping and adding classes, paying balance, accepting aid)
  • Provide assistance with managing potential students’ needs to maximize enrollment
  • Provide support for daily One Stop functions (i.e. greeting students, visitors, and efficient document collection)
  • Analyze what is needed for applicants to complete files for admissions/financial aid
  • Creates and implements data informed recruitment strategies for targeted marketing and the student enrollment communication plan in coordination with other college offices.
  • Responsible for personnel management including the selection, supervision, training (professional development), and evaluation of staff.
  • Establish, review, and enforce appropriate office protocols, as they pertain to processing recruit cards, utilizing the student database, protecting student information, and entering data.
  • Manage the admissions budget according to the established institutional practices.
  • Serve as the Primary Designated School Official for the college to the Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
  • Collaborate with key College officials in the development and implementation of overall student recruitment, enrollment, and retention services and practices.
  • Lead the Health Admissions process (e.g., file review, student appeals, and liaising with respective academic departments to make admissions decisions) for health professions programs.
  • Compile and analyze recruitment and admissions statistical reports including, but not limited to: studying feeder high schools, zip codes and other demographic trends, factors contributing to adult and continuing education students, and marketing and advertising outcomes.
  • Serve on, or lead, committees appropriate to job functions, including college governance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • An earned master’s degree in education, advertising, counseling, guidance, marketing, and or related fields is required.
  • At least five years progressively responsible experience in undergraduate admissions or related enrollment services delivery area.
  • Successful track record implementing and leveraging Client Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Demonstrated success implementing recruitment strategies for historically underrepresented and/or historically marginalized groups.
  • Community College experience preferred.
  • Experience successfully leveraging public relations skills, strong knowledge of the principles and practices of student recruitment and admissions, especially for diverse populations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. An advanced knowledge of technology, market research and analysis, and segmented communications. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Must have the ability to travel and work evenings and weekends for such events as Open Houses, College Fairs, community engagements, graduation, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products particularly Excel; Ellucian Banner software experience a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced and multifaceted office. Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of the community college system working with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong technology skills and knowledge of various technological systems such as Customer Relationship Management and Student Information Systems.
  • Bilingual Spanish is preferred.
